Since I purchased a few nicer plates but had nowhere to put them, this morning I started to look for an antique corner cabinet to store them. The one I liked was around 220,000 yen and that was way over my budget. Eric suggested I sort out the things in the kitchen to see if I could create more space first.

So that’s how my summer cleaning job started this morning. I cleaned out the cupboards, the pantry, the kitchen drawers and all the shelves. After three hours of emptying this and filling that, I not only found enough space to put our new dishes, but also created an empty drawer for future use.

By cleaning out this morning, I managed to save over 200,000 yen in three hours! Does that mean my hourly wage was over 70,000 yen!?

I was quite tired after my morning work, but I would do it again anytime for 70,000 yen per hour;)
